Tip
Disposable GMail addresses
GMail supports creating unlimited number of email addresses from a single account - if your gmail is "someone@gmail.com" then all the emails sent to "someone+something@gmail.com" will also go into your inbox.
The advantage is that you can filter the emails based on the "to" field. So the next time you register at some site just enter a disposable address, and if it turns out to be spam - just filter it out!

Unfortunately, a lot of web registration forms take that "+" character as illegal and won't accept an email address like that. Until that convention is allowed everywhere, or at least the majority of places, i'm gonna have to keep my junk email at a separate address!

A better solution for one-time use emails for registration is using a service like TemporaryInbox.com. The randomly generated email address remains open for a brief period of time, long enough to receive an email confirmation. Another option to try first is BugMeNot.com. It has a whole database of publicly distributed usernames and passwords for websites that require registration.

To add to the throw away mail services, mailinator.com is a good service. However I have run into sites that do not allow that domain.
