I used to be a professional woodworker. It turned out the cheapest tools in the long run were the highest quality tools. Higher productivity, less upkeep and repair cost, longer lasting, safer to use and better quality results. The cost/benefit ratio is not as applicable to casual users, but the increased safety factor alone can often make it worth it. If you're a toolophile, show this to your spouse :-)
