Getting more juice out of a lemon

You can get much more juice out of a fresh lemon if you microwave it for 20-25 seconds. Don't cut the lemon before putting it in.

Let it cool for a couple of minutes before squeezing.

Microwaving bread

If you keep your bread in a freezer (which is a good idea if you want to keep it fresh), and defrost it in a microwave - try wrapping it in a paper towels.

I have no idea why, but the bread microwaved this way doesn't have this familiar microwave texture, and is much closer to the real fresh bread.

Also works for pizza and cakes.
